EXPLORAR

LO PROFUNDO

Welcome to Cartagena

Ancalá is a Colombian luxury hospitality brand rooted in architecture, art, nature and a connection to place. Explore our two boutique hotels and waterfront restaurant in Colombia's most captivating city. Three properties. One philosophy:

Explore deeply

Our approach is professionally warm, encouraging the naturally hospitable character of our Colombian team to shine. We invite clients to get to know our city as our guests, not as tourists.

In a world where we have never travelled more, at Ancalá we know that it remains a true privilege to genuinely connect with the local.

BUT HOW

YOU LIVE WHEN YOU'RE THERE

THE REAL LUXURY
OF TRAVEL IS

NOT WHERE

YOU GO

Ancalá Casas Altas

Casas Altas is a collection of villas nestled on a hilltop overlooking the famed Bay of Cholón. Designed by Gustavo Pinto and Simón Vélez, it was acquired by the current owners to conserve these architecturally significant properties.

Six keys across three villas offer panoramic vistas and a private retreat from the busy beaches and shoreline.

VILLA PINTO

The villa has a shared pool with the best views on the property as well as its own kitchen, dining and living room. Rooms are named for the principal corals found in the Rosario Island National Park, two suites on the upper level – Fuego (Fire) and Cuerno (Horn) and a family room on the lower level – Estrella (Star). Rooms can be rented individually or the Villa can be privatised.

CASITA VERANERA

This two bedroom casita has a shared pool, outdoor lounger area and both rooms, Avi and Rhizo – named after our principal mangrove species – have their own generous terrace. Each room sleeps up to 3 guests. Rooms can be rented individually or the Casita can be privatised.

CASITA LAGUNA

Our most popular room, the Laguna Casita (also named for a species of mangrove) has its own private pool and large outdoor terrace. Set apart from the other buildings, Laguna offers a truly private experience, ideal for honeymooners and families. Sleeps up to 4 guests.

Ancalá Casa de la Renta

A 500-year-old colonial mansion with an original Colombian art collection in the heart of Cartagena's walled city and six individually styled rooms.

Casa de la Renta feels like a private members' club, a home to return to for frequent visitors to Cartagena, or a haven from which to explore for the first time.

Casa de la Renta – Taxation House – was where tobacco traders paid their taxes. Each room is named for a commodity from 'Las Indias' which delighted Europeans.

500 years later, Cartagena continues to add colour and flavour to lives of visitors from far away. Rent a single room or privatise the full house.
